Valorization of waste biomass from oleaginous “oil-bearing” seeds through the biocatalytic production of sinapic acid from mustard bran

This paper focuses on developing a sustainable and integrated process for the biocatalytic extraction of sinapic acid from waste biomass oleaginous “oil-bearing” seeds. Using an optimized chemo-enzymatic technique, sinapine was effectively liberated mustard bran then completely hydrolyzed into acid. Several parameters were to release (e.g., species, methods, production dates, ethanol concentration, solids loading, time enzyme type or concentration). Subsequently, bioprocess developed scaled up guided. The results revealed that source used can substantially impact acid, overall cost, respectively. For Canadian lot crude bran, ~10 mg per g successfully extracted, along with 43 total phenolics 71 sugars bran. Lastly, supplementary portions (i.e., lipids) also discussed their applicability as value added products.
